WELL THERE GOES 2008 !
It’s been an interesting year once again in the watersports business with the weather not entirely playing the game when it came to summer ! This did however mean that most windsurfing events had wind and were well attended & contested. However, the “doom & gloom” media driven situation that we find ourselves in has had the inevitable affect on lives and livelihoods. I’ll apologise now for any shortfalls in stock that may occur in 09 as stock levels are one area that may have to reflect the downturn. There will naturally be no reduction in the service that I and the Team try to offer.
On a positive note I know that there are some great events planned for next year especially on the windsurfing front ... slalom, wave & now speed are combining to bring good & diverse competition to your area soon !!
Also on the plus side interest rates & fuel prices are down. Maybe the trip west for the weekend isn’t over for good ! You’ve got the gear... get out on the water !
And even more positive.... expect some decrease in the overall price of a number of your favourite toys, wetsuits etc in the New Year. That is if our UK suppliers don’t suddenly adjust their prices upwards due to the floundering pound. Let’s hope not.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting Surfdock in the past year and in many cases for the last 17 years !! See you soon or in 2009 !
Happy Christmas from the Surfdock Shop Crew...Alan, Denise, Ant, Aimee & China Blue.
And the Team.. Oisin, Jeff, Noelle, Fintan & Dave .

PRODUCTION BOARD WORLDS, Dungarvan..
Unfortunately the wind didn't blow strong enough, or from the right direction to run official competition at the Production Board Speed World Cup. The sailors were dogged with a week of calm frosty conditions, and promising forecasts that never really materialised enough to make the action happen..
Word is though that all the International competitors were suitably impressed by the course, and could see it's huge potential. There are already plans for an Irish Speed series next year, The Belgian and Danish National Championships in Dungarvan, a possible World Record attempt, and also the Production Worlds again next Autumn.
Dungarvan is on the map ! Congrats to Martin Waldron and all the local crew for getting the event together.
To have a look at a few pictures of the Production Worlds, go to: [http://www.waterfordpeoplephotos.com/] and choose 'Events'. There you will see 3 pages of pictures from the event.
Also, there is now a video of some speed runs from the Irish Nationals on Surfdock's VIMEO page: [HERE]
Keep an eye on the website, as we add more Christmas Products, and add all the 2009 equipment available with new pricing.
Hope to see you soon !
